BY WILLIAM CRUM, Staff WriterSoil and groundwater contamination in upper sections of the MAPS 3 downtown park are “not that bad,” a geologist working on cleanup plans said Wednesday. “We were pretty pleased we didn’t find anything more dramatic,” Joe Foster told a park advisory committee. Foster’s company, Enercon, has studied the 40-acre site stretching from near Myriad Botanical Gardens to Interstate 40 between Robinson and Hudson Avenues. He said the 10-square-block area has been home to oil storage facilities, warehouses, printing plants, filling stations, and auto, truck and tractor repair shops.
