Sounders beat Galaxy 2-0, win MLS league

SEATTLE (AP) — Second-half substitute Marco Pappa of Guatemala scored in the 85th minute and again in stoppage time as the Seattle Sounders beat the Los Angeles Galaxy 2-0 on Saturday to win the Major League Soccer Supporters' Shield as league-winner for the first time in the six-year history of the club. In Vancouver, British Columbia, Kendall Waston scored in the 70th minute as the Whitecaps took the final Western Conference playoff spot with a 1-0 victory over the Colorado Rapids. The goal in the 26th minute was Di Vaio's ninth of the season and the 34th in 76 games since the former Italian Serie A striker became the Impact's first designated player in 2012.
