Police in Rosenberg are evacuating people who live near an area where a strong odor has been detected, authorities said tonight. The evacuation affects people living in a three block range east of the intersection of Ave. F and Ward Street and north of Ave. H, authorities said. Rosenberg firefighters are taking readings near a storm drain in the area and CenterPoint Energy has been contacted, officials said. Further information was not immediately available.
