Raiders beat: Murray has breakout night

The running back ran for two touchdowns, including a 90-yard one, Thursday night before sustaining a concussion in the second quarter. Murray was waiting for his chance as the two running backs ahead of him on the depth chart struggled. Murray averaged 28 yards on his four carries Thursday, and that per-carry number is higher than starter Darren McFadden’s yardage total in four games this season. The coolest thing about the whole thing was when he was doing that, all those other running backs were chest-bumping him, loving on him. Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles finished with 80 yards rushing and 42 receiving, which are not bad numbers. [...] the Raiders defense was very proud of its effort, considering Charles torched it for 215 yards and five touchdowns in Oakland in December. Charles Woodson and Sio Moore each tackled Charles for a big loss on a screen — a play on which Charles had scored three times in that game last season. Defensive tackle Antonio Smith had lost 24 straight games, 14 with the Houston Texans last season and 10 with the Raiders. The Chiefs were coming off a big win over the Super Bowl champion Seahawks and have a game coming up against the Broncos. According to STATS, the Raiders became just the third team since the merger to beat a first-place team for their first win after losing at least 10 games to start the season.
