Back to beginnings: Comics rule entertainment, but what about the books?

Click to view slideshow. By M. Scott Morris Daily Journal TUPELO – People who think they know nothing about comic books probably know something. Movie theaters are second homes to characters like Spider-Man, Thor, Superman, Batman, Storm, Wolverine, Iron Man, Black Widow, Hulk, Captain America, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and many more. The biggest movie of the summer was “Guardians of the Galaxy,” which started as a comic book. Characters also can be found on prime time television shows like “Gotham,” “The Flash,” “Arrow,” “Constantine” and “Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” And if those haven’t triggered any connections, consider television’s zombie sensation, “The Walking Dead.” “It was a comic before the television show came out,” said Chris Inman, 30, owner of Poe Poz Comics in Tupelo.
