PARIS (AP) — Lens defender Loick Landre has been suspended for seven matches by the French league for a violent tackle on Lorient midfielder Valentin Lavigne at the weekend. The league's disciplinary commission announced the decision on Thursday following a meeting. Landre was sent off for the tackle, which took place in the 15th minute of the match that Lorient won 1-0 on Saturday. The 20-year-old Lavigne sustained a serious knee injury and will be sidelined for around three months. Lens is bottom of Ligue 1, with 11 points, two behind 17th-placed Lorient. Landre will miss games against Metz, Monaco, Lille, Montpellier, Nice, Guingamp and Lyon.Read more on NewsOK.com
