KBR, the Houston engineering and construction company, announced a major restructuring of its business Thursday morning that will sharply reduce the number of its business units and eliminate 1,000 jobs. The company will go from 16 business segments to five, CEO Stuart Bradie said during an investor conference. In a statement Thursday, the company said it aimed to "simplify the structure, reduce overhead costs and create a more market-focused business."
