Koster files lawsuits against 13 St. Louis County municipalities

Attorney General Chris Koster filed civil lawsuits against 13 St. Louis County municipalities for violating a Missouri law that requires cities and towns to disclose the percentage of general revenue that results from fines and court fees for municipal traffic violations on Thursday. The law, referred to as Macks Creek law, not only requires for the disclosure of such amounts, but also states that if this amount exceeds 30 percent, the municipality must distribute the excess among local school districts.
