MIAMI (AP) — Advocates held a candlelight vigil in Miami to honor homeless individuals who died in 2014. Miami was one of more than 150 cities across the country that held memorial services Friday. Advocates read the names of more than 60 homeless individuals who passed away in Miami-Dade County over the past 12 months and laid wreaths in their honor. National Homeless Persons' Memorial Day takes place on or near the first day of winter to bring attention to the tragedy of homelessness.
