What It Means That Deportations Were Down 14 Percent This Year

CREDIT: AP Photo/Eric Gay The Obama administration deported 14 percent fewer immigrants in the 2014 fiscal year compared to the previous year and focused its deportation resources on criminal immigrants, according to the latest Immigration and Customs Enforcement data released last week. About two-thirds of ICE removals came from immigrants who were apprehended at the border, while the majority of the rest were of immigrants previously convicted of a crime.
