Comment on Ventura names new finance, technology director

The city of Ventura has hired a finance and technology director with experience working in Central and Northern California cities.Gilbert Garcia will start Feb. 17."In addition to his technical expertise, Gil brings with him solid management skills, creativity, and a demonstrated record of fostering teamwork and accountability," City Manager Mark Watkins said in a news release.The city has been without its top two finance officials since earlier this month, when assistant finance director Rudolph Livingston left to become Ojai's finance director.
