Officials in Sacramento are trying to determine who is beheading animals and discarding their bodies after six mutilated goats were found Wednesday in the northern part of the city, the latest in a series of similar decapitations. The goats, two adults and four juveniles, were found headless and stuffed into bags along a bike path near the corner of Sully Street and Claire Avenue, said Animal Care Services manager Gina Knepp. The mystery started with similar gruesome discoveries in the past several weeks in Reichmuth Park in southwestern Sacramento. Since the end of December, a goat, a lamb, a tortoise and several bags of chickens have all been found beheaded in the park, Knepp said.
