I know this question must have been asked one too many times in /r/movies but this thought just crossed my mind. Recently I watched Hugh Jackman's "Prisoners" and it turned out to be a very good movie. But what surprised me was the performance by Jake Gyllenhaal. I never liked him in the movies and I even avoided Donnie Darko and End of Watch because of that (Still haven't watched them).
