Peterson’s agency, Relativity Sports, released a statement from the Minnesota running back Friday, expressing “gratitude for all of the support” from fans, the NFL Players Association, union lawyer Jeffrey Kessler and his agents. U.S. District Judge David Doty ruled Thursday that the arbitrator erred in denying Peterson’s appeal of his suspension under the NFL’s personal conduct policy. Washington released defensive end Stephen Bowen and defensive lineman Barry Cofield, both of whom spent the last four years with the team. The Ravens released defensive end Chris Canty after two seasons in Baltimore. Top-seeded Novak Djokovic will face defending champion Roger Federer in the final of the Dubai Championships after a three-set win over Tomas Berdych, 6-0, 5-7, 6-4. Oscar Diaz, a former welterweight boxing contender whose career ended when he sustained a debilitating brain injury in a fight nearly seven years ago, died at 32 in San Antonio.
