Despite help, child poverty still a problem in Schenectady County

By Kathleen Moore Gazette Reporter According to a new study of Census data by the Casey Foundation, 18 percent of Schenectady County’s children are living in poverty. That’s after taking into account all the help provided by the state and federal governments, including food stamps, housing subsidies and tax credits.
