Jury awards Iraq vet $28,600 in service-dog case

A federal jury on Monday awarded nearly $28,600 to an Iraq War veteran who sued his former employer, a Schlumberger subsidiary, over his request to bring a service dog to work to help him cope with his post-traumatic stress disorder. Juan Alonzo-Miranda, 33, alleged that Schlumberger Technology Corp.'s delay in granting him a "reasonable accommodation" for his disability violated the Americans with Disabilities Act.
