A former Harris County deputy constable is facing a year in county jail if convicted on a theft charge. Dedrick Johnson, 28, was charged Wednesday with theft by public servant, authorities said. Johnson is accused of making false entries into a time card for an extra job. The theft allegations did not involve his former employer, the Harris County Precinct 6 Constable's Office, officials said. Johnson was fired on Wednesday.
