Free-agent defensive end Michael Sam says that he is not the only gay player in the NFL. Sam became the first openly gay player selected in the NFL draft when the St. Louis Rams chose him in the seventh round of the 2014 NFL Draft. He was cut at the end of training camp after making three sacks during the preseason and was signed by the Dallas Cowboys to their practice squad, spending seven weeks with the team before he was released in October. “I am not the only gay person in the NFL,” Sam said, according to the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
