The Record (http://bit.ly/1CzlkAw) reports that the birds' sudden swap of lodging arrangements has quashed plans by two environmental groups to show the raptors on the Web as they raised their young. The Fyke Nature Association in Allendale had raised donations to help pay for the purchase and installation of a Web cam in the Allendale tree the birds had used the past four years. "The discovery of the new nest was bittersweet," said Jim Wright, deputy marsh warden at Celery Farm in Allendale and one of those who worked on the project. David Wheeler, executive director of the Conserve Wildlife Foundation, had said the non-profit was excited about the project because red-shouldered hawks are an elusive species less often seen here than other raptor species.
