A teenage skier was taken by ambulance Sunday afternoon to a Rumford hospital after falling and getting hurt in what officials at Black Mountain Ski Resort described as a “pond-skimming accident.” General Manager Jim Carter said the girl was completing a run at the base of the mountain when she attempted to skim across a pond of water on her skis. Carter said the girl fell and landed on her side.
