Site changes for Class 6A state golf tournament

Ongoing course repairs at the University of Texas Golf Club have forced the Class 6A state championships to be shifted to another venue. The high school competition from April 27-28 has been moved to the Legacy Hills Golf Club in Georgetown, a University Interscholastic League spokeswoman said Monday. The UT Golf Club course will be shut down for 10 days, said club general manager Steve Termeer, and it will take up to four weeks to ready the course for a large tournament on the scale of the Class 6A event. Termeer said the club recently re-sodded most of the greens’ perimeters, using sod shipped in from Tifton, Ga.Read more on NewsOK.com
