Writer-director Alex Garland reveals reasons for making 'Ex Machina'

Writer-director Alex Garland's biggest successes have been the novel 'The Beach' (1996) and his screenplay for Danny Boyle's 2002 zombie hit '28 Days Later.' But his new film about artificial intelligence, 'Ex Machina,' is attracting a lot of attention and might just possibly eclipse his other achievements.
