Harrison Barnes benefits from bulk of practice with Walton

After most practices, Warriors small forward Harrison Barnes plays one-on-one against assistant coach Luke Walton, who has added at least 15 pounds since he played at 6-foot-8 and 235 pounds. “You mostly just try to eat up the space,” Barnes said after the Warriors’ 101-86 Game 1 victory against the Grizzlies. Barnes also had 11 points on 4-of-4 shooting, two key offensive rebounds, three assists and a blocked shot. After Klay Thompson missed a jumper, Barnes chased down the rebound and found Stephen Curry for an open three-pointer. “I thought Harrison was terrific,” Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said. The most impressive thing Barnes did was defend against Randolph when Andrew Bogut and Draymond Green were in foul trouble.
