Notebook offers glimpse into Colorado theater shooter's mind

Notebook offers glimpse into Colorado theater shooter's mind (AP) — Colorado theater shooter James Holmes' notebook provides the most comprehensive look yet into what he described as his "broken" mind. Just before the 2012 attack that killed 12 and injured 70, Holmes mailed the notebook to a University of Colorado psychiatrist who treated him. The notebook opens with drawings of stick figures, one standing, the rest presumably dead, and a series of equations that appear to try to evaluate whether a "murderer" gains value by killing people. Holmes details various mental issues, diagnosing himself as suffering from schizophrenia, generalized anxiety disorder, psychosis and other illnesses. Holmes diagrammed various theaters at the suburban Denver complex, marking exit doors, evaluating his own visibility, even locating the best parking spots.
