AUSTIN – Campus carry is en route to becoming law next year, after the state House on Sunday gave final approval to the legislation and sent it to Gov. Greg Abbott's desk. The state House approved the bill by a vote of 98-47; the Senate extended its approval Saturday by a partisan vote of 20-11. Senate Bill 11 seeks to expand where licensed gun owners can carry concealed handguns on state college campuses; current law only allows licensees to carry concealed in open areas like quads, but not in buildings or dormitories.
