CW Plans Dark, Gritty "Little Women" Reboot

The CW is opting for a non comic book adaptation for one of its next shows with the youth-skewing network developing a new TV series take on Louisa May Alcott's iconic 19th century novel "Little Women". The project has been described as a "hyper-stylized, gritty adaptation" in which the disparate half-sisters Jo, Meg, Beth and Amy who must overcome their own lethal squabbles to survive the dystopic streets of Philadelphia and unravel a conspiracy that stretches far beyond anything they have ever imagined. The project has joined the network's 2015-16 development slate and will be penned by Alexis Jolly and produced by "NCIS" star Michael Weatherly. Source: Variety
