SALEM, Ore. (AP) — The former boyfriend of a woman convicted of manslaughter in her daughter's drowning death is facing murder charges. The Statesman Journal reports (http://stjr.nl/1MXJszE) 28-year-old David Gene Elliott was arrested Thursday and charged with murder, criminal mistreatment and assault. Investigators say Elliott found 3-year-old Aniya Zamora face down in a bathtub while her mother was listening to noise-canceling headphones in another room. An autopsy by the State Medical Examiner's Office found the toddler sustained blunt force abdominal trauma before nearly drowning in the bathtub.
