Welch, Luján propose nationwide energy standards

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Two members of Congress — Vermont's Peter Welch and New Mexico's Ray Luján are proposing nationwide energy standards — one for renewable energy and another for energy efficiency. They've filed legislation to require electric utilities, by 2030, to obtain at least 30 percent of their electricity supply from renewable sources.
