Comment on Thousands stolen from Gray American Legion

About $15,000 in cash was stolen from American Legion Post 86 in Gray Saturday night by thieves who broke into a safe. Jason Hall, post adjutant, said the theft was discovered at about 6:15 a.m. Sunday by a maintenance man who opened the door to a scene of destruction. A thick coat of concrete dust covered every surface and there was the smell of burning rubber in the air. Hall said the last person to leave the post was the bartender who locked up at 10:05 p.m.
