The new Coonskin Park Bridge will officially open today during a 3 p.m. ceremony.The public is invited to the event, which will take place inside the park. Those attending should use the existing entrance on Coonskin Drive.Following the ceremony, that entrance will be permanently sealed, and the West Virginia National Guard will begin controlling access to its section of Coonskin Drive, which is adjacent to the Kanawha County-owned park.
