Comment on Lamar seeks donations on Giving Tuesday

With Black Friday and Cyber Monday come and gone, Americans are being asked to reach into their wallets one more time today and donate to their favorite charities. The BBB Wise Giving Alliance evaluates charities by looking at 20 different factors, including finances, overhead, governance, effectiveness and fundraising practices. First announced in October 2012, Giving Tuesday was created as a national day of giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season. In the years since, emphasis has grown and a large number of organizations, including Google, Microsoft, Skype, Cisco, UNICEF and others, have joined as partners in promoting the value of philanthropy, according to the organization's website.
