Pierce Brosnan to Reteam with Martin Campbell for Across the River and Into the Trees

Pierce Brosnan to star in Across the River and Into the Trees According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pierce Brosnan (No Escape, Mama Mia!) will re-team with his GoldenEye director Martin Campbell (Casino Royale, Green Lantern) for the adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s 1950 novel Across the River and Into the Trees. Here is the publisher’s synopsis of the book: Set in Venice at the close of World War II, “Across the River and into the Trees” is the bittersweet story of a middle-aged American colonel, scarred by war and in failing health, who finds love with a young Italian countess at the very moment when his life is becoming a physical hardship to him.
