The U.S. Geological Survey said 2.7- and 1.9-magnitude earthquakes were recorded Monday morning near Maine’s border with Canada. According to the USGS, the earthquakes occurred near the New Brunswick town of Nackawic around 9:43 a.m. and then at 9:49 a.m. No injuries were reported. An earthquake greater than 2.5 can usually be felt, but typically causes only minor damage.
