Comment on Early morning fire in Logan believed to be arson

By Staff reports Authorities suspect that an early morning fire in Logan was arson. The fire was reported at 555 Stratton St., an apartment building, at about 1:45 a.m. Friday, according to a 911 dispatcher. Logan Fire Marshal Chris Hatfield said the fire is believed to be arson because only one family was living in the apartment building, and they were gone at the time the fire started. The building sustained significant water damage."More than likely it's a total loss," Hatfield said. The fire is believed to have started around a stairwell.
