Clam diggers to get three more days at Long Beach

LONG BEACH — Three more days of razor clam digging on the Long Beach Peninsula begin Friday. The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife approved the digging for Friday, May 7 and May 8 after marine toxin tests indicate the clams are safe to eat. Low tides will be 6:51 a.m., -1.5 feet on Friday; 7:39 a.m., -2.0 feet on May 7 and 8:26 a.m., -2.1 feet on May 8. Dan Ayres, coastal shellfish manager, urged diggers to arrive at the beach an hour or two before low tide for the best results. Diggers are required to keep the first 15 clams dug.
