Denver coroner says April death of man found in trash can is homcide

Denver authorities announced Wednesday they have ruled the death of a man whose body was found in a trash can earlier this year a homicide. Marc Koenig, 35, died of blunt force injuries, the Denver Office of the Medical Examiner says. Koenig was found April 13 in a large rolling trash can in the alley between the 3200 blocks of Race and High streets. Investigators have been mum about the case, initially just calling their probe a “death investigation.” The medical examiner’s office did not rule on his cause and manner of death in the days after he was found, saying they needed more time. Denver police on Wednesday had no major updates in the case.
