Ant-Man Sequel Director on Lang Teaming With Wasp

Peyton Reed, the director behind Marvel's upcoming Ant-Man and the Wasp, spoke to what lies ahead for Paul Rudd's Scott Lang and his relationship with Evangeline Lilly's Wasp. Speaking with Modern Myth Media at the Saturn Awards, Reed addressed Lang's status as a fugitive, saying that after the events of the first Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War, Marvel's tiniest hero is an even "bigger fugitive now." He was careful to note the studio hasn't overlooked what's happened in the prior movies with Rudd's character, and has plans for "some big leaps forward." Reed also spoke to the future of Lilly's Hope van Dyne and expressed his excitement for her to become Wasp, saying the upcoming sequel will focus on how she and Lang work together and "what their personal and professional relationships are like." The film will show Wasp "fully formed" and complete "with her full power." In fact, Reed doesn't see Hope van Dyne as just a supporting character, saying Ant-Man and the Wasp will be "every bit as much her movie as it is Scott Lang’s." Continue reading…
