A planned work stoppage involving 3,300 union nurses at Brigham and Women’s Hospital has been called off, with both sides coming to a tentative three-year agreement on a contract after hours of negotiation that went late into the night Saturday. The compromise brings to an end months of negotiation and debate, and averts what would have been the largest nurses strike in the state.
