From Staff ReportsThe Commissioners of the Land Office announced Friday it made a record distribution to Oklahoma's public schools during the 2016 fiscal year, which ended Thursday. K to 12 public schools received a total of $102.2 million, which surpasses the 2015 fiscal year total by $5 million, according to Harry Birdwell, secretary of the agency. Funds distributed to institutions of higher education in FY 2016 totaled $32 million, $700,000 more than a year ago.
