Two weeks after it was ignited by a lightning strike, the Hayden Pass fire is gradually being contained. As of Friday evening, officials estimated containment at 55 percent as the wildfire near Coaldale has burned 16,489 acres, according to InciWeb, which tracks fires in national forests. "Firefighters began extensive back-hauling of equipment away from the fire, back to staging points for transport back to home locations," officials said Friday in the InciWeb report.
