USA routs China in Warriors-centric exhibition

Warriors point guard Stephen Curry arrived fashionably late to the Olympic warmup game between the United States and China on Tuesday night, and seemingly no one was watching the game as they followed his strut to courtside seats at Oracle Arena. Curry eventually acknowledged the crowd with a peace sign when he shown on the arena’s giant video board. Curry opted to skip the Olympics to help his recovery from ankle, elbow and knee ailments, and on at least this Tuesday night, Team USA didn’t seem to miss him - dismantling China 107-57 in front of a thoroughly entertained Oakland crowd. Sacramento’s DeMarcus Cousins led all players with 21 points and 11 rebounds, and New York’s Carmelo Anthony scored 16 of his 20 points during a third-quarter outburst. After Durant warmed up about 90 minutes before the game, he started down the home tunnel to the Warriors’ locker room and was swarmed by autograph-seeking fans, including one holding a sign that read: “KD is not a villain.” Durant wasted no time rewarding the fans for a 15-second ovation during pregame introductions. Green had four points, seven rebounds and some stalwart defense that helped the United States limit China to XX.X percent shooting from the floor. The crowd cheered Warriors shooting guard Klay Thompson, who was the last Team USA player to score. After missing seven three-point attempts, he got into the lane and completed a three-point play in the fourth quarter.
