Staff Report The Intervale Mercantile Co. at 4 School St. in Freeport was robbed at gunpoint Friday morning. Freeport Police Chief Susan Nourse said in a prepared statement that the armed robbery took place at 8:40 a.m. when a male entered the store and took the owner’s wallet and several thousands dollars of merchandise into a leather satchel before fleeing. The robbery is under investigation, the chief said.
