A new state law went into effect Wednesday that allows parents and guardians to ask credit-reporting agencies to freeze a credit record in their child's name. The goal is to prevent identity theft by restricting those agencies from releasing information about the child, making it more difficult for an impostor to use that information to obtain credit, loans or services fraudulently in the child's name.adcelannotate = {"mobilepaywallcategory" : "MOBILE_PREM-BUSINESS","nativepaywallcategory" : "NATIVE_PREM-BUSINESS"};
