If there was a lesson to be learned — or reinforced — at the 18th Women United Luncheon it was that bickering, bluster, name-calling and under-handed maneuvering are not the only ways to effect change. Former U.S. Sen. Olympia Snowe, the keynote speaker at this benefit for Mile High United Way, and Libby Anschutz, recipient of the 2016 Frances Wisebart Jacobs Award, are women who have made a difference — not by being loud and obnoxious but by making collaboration one of their strong suits. Anschutz uses the magic of music to bring attention to causes relating to health, education, human services, public policy and personal values.
