When the news started to spread in recent weeks that the venerable Ralph Walker Skating Rink will not open for the coming winter season, a great community cry of anguish erupted.Could it be? No more skating at that wonderfully funky old place on State Street?Here's the word from the City of New Haven, which owns the rink: no, you won't be able to skate there this winter.
