Terrence Holmes will take the oath of office as Jefferson County Court at-law No. 2 judge Monday, about a month earlier than a new judge normally would because current judge Cory Crenshaw plans to resign effective Saturday, wrapping up an almost three-year appointment. Holmes is currently a Beaumont municipal court judge and is a defense attorney in private practice.
