By Steve Gust For The OklahomanEDMOND — By the fall of 2018, Ida Freeman Elementary will be the latest Edmond school to feature a tornado safe room. Members of the Edmond School Board voted Monday to approve preliminary plans for the safe room, which also will double as a media center. Presenting the project to the board were Chief Operations Officer Christina Hoehn and Ida Freeman building committee members, led by Principal Keith Pautler and faculty member David Nichols.
