For Denver hotels, 2016 was a pretty good year

Denver hotels enjoyed a pretty good year in 2016, with all but one key metric rising. According to research by hotel research firm STR Inc., only the city's hotel occupancy rate fell last year, dropping to 73.7 percent from 75.6 percent a year earlier. But other metrics improved: The average daily rate (ADR) rose to $127.39 from $120.78 in 2015, a 5.5 percent increase; Revenue per available room (RevPAR) rose to $93.83 from $91.29 in 2015, an increase of 2.8 percent; and total revenue rose to $1.51…
