As the Winter Park Express wraps its first season, Amtrak and Winter Park officials said the year had been a success as the train is expected to top 18,000 riders when it finishes this weekend. Officials described this season as an experiment, saying they planned to look into adding amenities, including food and beverage, next year and will be evaluating tickets for more “dynamic pricing” — meaning potentially raising or lowering prices depending on demand. “This whole year was meant to be a learning experience and it was,” Winter Park spokesman Steve Hurlbert said. The train, which can hold 554 riders, sold one-way tickets costing $39, $49 or $59.
