The Newport Township Recreation Board is sponsoring a clean-up event 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., May 6 and 7. Volunteers are needed to pick up litter and rake leaves in the Wanamie Recreation Park and the playgrounds in Alden and Coal Street, Glen Lyon. Volunteers are asked to bring rakes and report to the Wanamie Park for assignments.
